I started a garden today, completely be accident. As in, a real garden, with dirt and stuff.
Microgreens reboot, electroculture experiment
I’d had to stop growing microgreens in the previous apartment a few weeks prior to the move so that I could get all that stuff packed properly and securely, without having to deal with any crops in progress.
After moving into the new place, I started growing more sprouts within the first few weeks, but I hadn’t gathered the focus to start more microgreens. And I figured it was time…

Movin’ on up!
We moved from our bright (but north-facing) and cozy 640-sq ft 1-bedroom into an open, spacious, and sunny 1000+ sq ft 2-bedroom, which gave me a separate space designated as a home office, a specific professional space to work that feels all growed up.

Fast-growing microgreens
Our second microgreens are ready for harvest after only about 10 days! I’d left the grow light on longer by accident, and they reached for the sky lol.

The microgreens are good! They’re very mature now, almost geriatric, the true leaves getting bigger and taking some shape lol.
Harvesting the first microgreens
Other tasks today include harvesting the microgreens, which I’m not exactly sure how to do. I’m sure it probably won’t be as simple as snipping what you want from the dirt, because the stems themselves have dirt on them from the way they grew.
