Learning together
My roommate and I have been taking 30-90 minutes or so at night and watching YouTube videos on gardening, sprouting, etc. We’re learning tidbits here and there that we’re piecing together.
First onion sprouts
Excerpts from journals on my first attempt at onion sprouts; unfortunately not very detailed, but I’ll add what I can remember.
Branching out
I’ve been researching different sprouts, those not quite as widely found. I’ve gotten very interested in sesame, chives, kale, red clover, sunflower, and cress (not sure if that’s the same as watercress?).
Mushrooms…on my radar…makes me happy
My Wise Gardening Friend mentioned that I can grow mushrooms in low light (!). We have a north-facing window apartment with windows only on the one side, so this is very helpful.
A grand (urban garden) vision…
So…let’s talk about the garden-planning.
Second verse, same as the first!
I’m growing my second “crop” of sprouts! And these are coming along even more robust than the first round.
Diving in head-first
My beginner’s variety pack of sprouts came today! All 12 pounds lol. The only one my roommate and I aren’t too crazy about is the peas, but we can give those to someone.
Beginner’s luck!
Thursday (9/29/2022) was my last full day growing the sprouts, and they made some serious headway.
